If you are happy with your game, choose to publish it. Your game will now be under “My Games” and if you have published it, it can be found under “Discover”.
Discover – find games
Here you can explore a collection of ready-made games that you can easily share directly with your students or copy to create your own version. The library is constantly growing, giving you more options to filter games by specific topics, grades and difficulty levels. In addition, you can use various filters such as “popular” themes and more to find the perfect game for your needs.
When you find a game that seems interesting, click on the game card. It takes you to a game information page where you can learn more about the game’s story, background, game category, length, difficulty level and number of rooms. In addition, you can preview the questions and answers already included in each room. You can also use this as a reference to help students in the classroom.
If you want to create your own version of the game, click “copy game” and then you can customize it to your liking, including questions, story, time and more.

Share games
To share a game, you can either select one of your own games under “My games” or find a game in the library under “Discover”. The public library will be continuously replenished with games of different topics and ages that you can easily copy.
If you want to share your own game with your class, go to “My games” and click on the game you want to share. It takes you to the game page where you can see more information and make any changes to the game. On the left you have the possibility to go to the lobby.
Once inside the lobby, you can invite players by:
- Share link: Click on the link and share it with your students.
- QR code: Click on the QR code to enlarge it. ATTENTION! A mobile app will be released shortly.
- Enter the game code: You can also give students the code for the game. They can then go to escaply.com and select “enter game code”.
Next, they need to enter their game names.
Under “Players” you can see all players/students joining the game.
When all players are in the game, click on “Start the game”.
PS: Ask students to click on the video if they are playing alone. If you are sitting in the classroom, it might be a good idea to show the movie on a large screen, just you as the game leader.
Play
When you click “Play”, the countdown starts and players are brought into the game. Here they search for clues and answers to questions that can help them complete the mission. If they see a hand icon on the workspace, they can click on it to reveal a question or clue. When they answer a question, the item is marked to indicate that it has been answered. If you, as a teacher, have selected easy difficulty, the markings are shown as red/green based on whether they are correct or not. If the game is difficult, it is only shown as answered.
In the menu bar at the top, they can see the number of questions answered, remaining questions and remaining time, and part of the password. They can also track how many clues remain to be found and how many rooms the game covers. When enough questions have been answered correctly, the gate opens and they can leave.
Reports
Under “Reports” you can find previous games you and your students have played to see their results. You can also search for specific rooms or filter by topics, grades and levels of difficulty.
