Interview with Sigyn Dannemann
Sigyn DannemannJag kan se att eleverna anstränger sig för att klara av uppgifterna. Eftersom spelen är på tid så är det många som vill placera sig bra och visa hur snabba och duktiga de är.

Can you describe how you usually use Escaply?
I teach a grade 5 class and a grade 6 class and both classes enjoy Escaply. They have appreciated it the most when I have used Escaply for homework or to finish a piece of work. They have also enjoyed making up questions about the topic for their classmates, which I then put into a game.
A colleague of mine told me about Escaply and showed me how it works. I like the fact that you can use different types of questions and that I can find games created by others that fit what I am working on.

What do your students think?
Almost all students find the assignments very fun and challenging. They like the fact that they have to find the question and then try to answer/solve it.

What would you recommend to other teachers who want to get started?
My recommendation is to experiment and create your own games. When I started making games, I told the pupils that I might very well have made a mistake and they were welcome to help me so that I could change it and get it right. Students tend to be helpful and speak up when they notice errors. Then you have to believe that you can make games that students appreciate.

How have you seen Escaply influence students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills?
I can see that students are making an effort to complete the tasks. Since the games are timed, many people want to place well and show how fast and skilled they are.
